Let's Face It We Are All Selling Something…
For many years while I was growing up I remember how much I hated pushy salespeople. Granted, this began over 40 years ago.
I remember going to a Honda motorcycle dealership to look at ATVs, being rushed by the first salesman to jump up, and then after telling him what I was looking for, being told that's not what I needed, that I didn't need four-wheel-drive. He forgot to consider the customer first.

This is a two part article I originally wrote for AWAI's Wealthy Web Writer back in 2014
This is a great article if you're looking to take on a new client and need some pointers.
The two links in the heading above will open in new windows or tabs depending on your browser settings, and as a marketer, I wouldn't normally take you to another site... but AWAI is a great company and a great resource for someone starting out, as well as seasoned pros.
If you want to read the complete article, and trust me, you'll be glad you did, the Read the full post and image links will also open in a new window or tab.
Below is the opening of the article

Up until now, they’ve only been using the site for basic information about their company and products.
Now it’s up to you to step in and give that stale content a makeover.
Content marketing, a process of using words, graphics, and videos to generate creative, educational, and engaging content will help your client:
- 1. Build awareness of, and demand for, their products and services, without using hard-sell tactics that consumers have begun to avoid.

Surprisingly, many of the concerns I hear from new business owners are not about cost of the investment.
Clients cite things such as shipping problems and being able to keep up with the potential growth spurt.
While these and other concerns, are valid…
Selling online, commonly referred to as e-commerce, is as, and sometimes more important than, hiring sales people.
While there are still expenses incurred in managing an e-commerce website, those expenses don't rise to the level of employee expenses.
A website doesn't take a vacation, doesn't call in sick, and doesn't go home at five.
